At Josiah Academy, our primary service is to umbrella families who are learning at home, according to the state's educational laws and the policies of the Louisiana Department of Education (LDE) Church Related Schools. La. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 17:236
We provide centralized record keeping, attendance reporting, curriculum review, and achievement testing, among others.
Upon enrolling, the student and the primary teacher will receive an Josiah Academy ID card (which helps the parent-teacher qualify for teacher discounts where available).
Updates to events, activities, and other information is posted online and available to all our families.
We offer some extra-curricular activities, including: athletics, graduation ceremonies, tutorials and enrichment classes, and curriculum consultation.
Field trip information, and other events, can be found in our resource pages.
Josiah Academy will keep student records, including but not limited to: transfers, transcripts, attendance reports, grade average reports, and achievement test scores. High school transcripts can be requested by parents for those students enrolling in higher education or joining our armed forces.
(All records are confidential. Parents or legal guardians will need to submit a written request to review student records.)
